Yes! Dr. Rush has the skill and expertise to place and restore dental implants here at our comfortable Fort Collins dental office.
The first step is to meet with Dr. Rush for a dental implant evaluation. To be a good implant candidate, there must be dense, healthy bone in the area of your jaw that we plan to place your implant.
How Dental Implant Placement Works
If you’re a good candidate, we proceed to implant placement, where Dr. Rush uses 3-D cone beam CT scans and creates a surgical guide that allows him to place the implant in the optimal position in your jawbone.
Thanks to this precise planning, placing a dental implant at our Fort Collins dental office is straightforward and the procedure takes about an hour. Dr. Rush performs implant placement under local anesthesia so you won't feel any pain.
Dental Implant Healing
The next step is to wait for the dental implant to heal. Over the next 3-6 months, a process called osseointegration occurs, where bone and tissue in the jaw fuse around the implant post. Healing is the most crucial part of the procedure as it’s how the implant gains its strength and stability.
Dr. Rush will monitor you during the healing process, and once the implant is fully integrated, the tooth is ready for the implant restoration—crown, bridge, or denture—that is visible when you smile. Once we attach the tooth restoration to the implant post, your new tooth will look, feel, and function just like a real tooth.
