Porcelain veneers are one of the quickest methods to enhance your smile by concealing crooked, chipped, stained, or decayed teeth. At Ryan Rush DDS PLLC in Fort Collins, CO 80526, we offer customized veneers that can enhance the size, color, length, or shape of the teeth to transform your smile into something you can confidently show off.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Dental Veneers are slim covers fabricated using porcelain and secured to the front surface of the teeth to hide the imperfections of your smile. They can give you enhanced, pearly white teeth to boost your confidence and smile. They are one of the most popular aesthetic treatments available in dentistry for adults because, when done correctly, they can look like natural teeth.
What Are the Benefits of Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are fabricated using semi-translucent porcelain and custom-made to fit precisely over an existing tooth. Many patients decide on porcelain over composite dental materials because:
- They exhibit a more natural tooth appearance.
- They are made of processed glass and are not porous.
- They are stronger and more resistant to staining and chipping.
- Gum tissue tolerates porcelain better.
- They can be selected to match the shade of brightness that you desire.
Who Would Need Porcelain Veneers?
Adults who want to have a rejuvenated smile can opt for porcelain veneers. They can be used to conceal stains and cracks in your teeth, hide misaligned or worn-out teeth, and fix teeth that are unevenly contoured or spaced.
At our office, your porcelain veneers will be custom-fabricated to fit snugly over your teeth for an appealing and natural look. Dr. Ryan Rush will listen to your purposes and aesthetic concerns so he can personalize your treatment plan. He could also determine whether you are suitable for cosmetic veneers by evaluating the total health of your mouth. Patients who want porcelain veneers should have healthy gums and not be, consciously or unconsciously, grinding and clenching teeth.
What to Expect During the Procedure?
First, to make you more comfortable, a local anesthetic may be used if needed to numb the area. Then, to prepare your tooth for a veneer fitting, Dr. Ryan Rush will remove about half a millimeter of enamel to provide enough space for the veneer. We will then capture an impression of your tooth. This impression will be sent to our dental lab to construct your customized veneer.
During the next visit, your veneers will be bonded to the surface of the prepared tooth. Once the veneer is in place, we will evaluate your bite and make final adjustments, if any are needed.
